Khardung-La Top in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, India is claimed to be the highest all weather motorable pass in the world which is at 18380 feet above mean sea level. At this popularly known K-Top, there is a road sign indicating WORLD'S HIGHEST MOTORABLE ROAD installed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) who is responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads in this part of the world.
Near to this K-Top sign board, the famous Guru Vachanam viz., ONE CASTE - ONE RELIGION - ONE GOD - FOR ALL MEN is engraved and fixed on a stone memorial at the behest of Colonel Sreeghanlal P Raman (Rd) to spread the great invaluable message of Sree Narayan Guru, which is well practiced by Indian Army, giving equal importance & respect to all religions.
Sreeghanlal hails from the hilly village Thiruvilwamala in the northern terrain of Thrissur district of Kerala. The temple town famous for the Vilwadrinatha Temple, which is one among the rare Sri Rama temples in Kerala, is located on the banks of the Bharathapuzha River and is near to Shoranur and Ottapalam. S.P. Raman did his schooling from Government High School, Manaloor - which is one of the great old centres for learning in Thrissur.
The stone memorial was established when Col S.P. Raman was commanding the Regiment in 1998, to spread this great message that should be practiced by all to save humanity from existing animosity.
The high altitude Khardung La pass or the 'Pass of Lower Castle' lies on the road between Nubra valley and Leh in Ladakh which is known to be the coldest desert in the world or more often termed as the 'Little Tibet'.
The inscription of Sree Narayana Guru's famous words was dedicated by Colonel S.P. Raman and his Regiment to symbolize the greatness of the virtues of Sree Narayana Guru which is above all in this world and would lead to a LOKAM of harmony & peace.
